Check out these two shows Tim the Drummer is helping to put on. Hope to see you there. Tell your friends. :-)
http://www.brianbladeinfo.com/musicforthemission.htm. Mark your calendars and come to Portland for some great music on 11/3/10 and 11/6/10. Brian Blade and EmmyLou Harris. Wow!

Dustin moved to Portland and we will keep you posted on what he's got going on in the swingin' PDX music scene.

Meanwhile, Kat just ran the 10/10/10 Portland Marathon and will be performing at The Olympia Farmer's Market with Vann Cantin, Ray Wood, & James from Hot Club Sandwich on Sunday, 10/24/10 at 11:00 a.m. She will also sing at Tony Starlight's Supper Club and Lounge on 11/9/10 and 11/12/10.

The rest of the guys are still playing music in Hood River and Digging the Day.

Cheers, All!

Band Hiatus - August 24, 2010

Well, we blew 'em out of Jackson Park at our last gig, Families in The Park. We appreciated all the support of fans and friends and we had an amazing time playing all those old tunes. For various reasons beyond our control, we have decided that it is time for Django's Cadillac to take a siesta and then move on down the road. Thanks to everyone who made this band what it has become over the past eight years. We will miss jamming for now, but will let y'all know when the Reunion Tour will begin. Stay tuned.................and keep those guitars and horns tuned as well! Cheers, The Band

Happy 2010! - January 12, 2010

Happy New Year! We were hoping to see some fans and play some songs at The Pines on New Year's Eve, but the snow & ice shut us down. We hope to set up some gigs in 2010 and get back into the swing of things.

Last year was a crazy year for all of us as we watched our friend and band-mate, Rick, battle cancer. On April 1st, 2009, Rick was told he only had a few months to live. Well, we are happy to say that he is still here 9 months later thanks to the magic of miracle-worker Dr. Sugerbaker in Washington D.C. Thank you, Dr. Sugerbaker! Rick is now told he could live for 20 years. We will all hope for even longer than that. The lesson: Enjoy life each & every minute!

The guys still jam at The Pines on Thursday nights & you can see all of them playing music here & there in Hood River.

Tim will take on his second year of working for the Portland Jazz Festival. He is learning a ton & is schmoozing with the Big-Wigs of Jazz.

Kat auditioned for the Portland Trailblazers with her vocal group, Signatures, & will be singing the National Anthem in front of the packed Rose Garden Arena on January 13, 2010. She still sings regularly at Tony Starlight's Supper Club and Lounge.

Keep listening to good music this year and we will hope to see you soon!

Autumn news - October 12, 2009

It looks like this Indian summer we've been enjoying may end soon & we will be enjoying a long run of autumn rain. Well, that's why we live in the Northwest, right?  Enjoy the soaking!

Rick has truly been enjoying life.  He plays with a large group of talented musicians most Thursdays at The Pines Tasting Room in downtown Hood River.  You should check it out.  It's quite awesome.  You will no doubt find some of the other musicians from Django's Cadillac there, too. Tim, Larry, Kerry, Dennis & Dustin sit in on the Thursday night jam session at The Pines whenever they can.  Rick is starting chemo next week.  Please hold a good thought for him as he continues this journey away from cancer.  Updates about Rick are posted on his Caring Bridge website.  Go to the link page for more info.

Kat's vocals are featured on a newly released cd called Alligator Circus.  The jazzy music & lyrics are written by Ray Wood & Vann Cantin, both of whom are great friends and amazing musicians.  If you see Kat around, you should flag her down & buy one of these cds!  If you don't see Kat around you could check out this website: www.alligatorcircus.com .  It should be up & running soon.  Kat sings regularly at Tony Starlight's Supper Club & Lounge in Portland.

Have a fun & spooky October!

Rick is back! - August 4, 2009

Rick came home from Washington D.C. yesterday after enduring an amazing surgery to battle cancer. He recovered very well over the past few weeks and will continue to fight this battle. We have so much hope for him thanks to Dr. Sugarbaker, the miracle worker, in D.C. Keep up the good recovery, Rick!

After THAT amazing news, everything else pales in comparison, but just in case you are curious about the rest of the band:

Kat will be singing at The Bite of Oregon near the beer garden stage on Saturday, August 8th at 3:30 p.m.

Tim, not only an amazing drummer, but also a great friend & driver, had the pleasure of picking Rick & Sharon up at the airport after their long journey. He continues to play drums around town & is no doubt busy selling windsurfing equipment.

Larry is most likely building a house, & I'm sure both he & Dustin are enjoying a summer of playing music in their spare time away from teaching. Almost back-to-school time, guys, so enjoy August!

Where is Dennis? I haven't heard a peep out of him since our last gig at The Pines. Hopefully we'll hear more than just a peep out of one of those horns soon!

Take care everyone & enjoy the heatwave!

New songs on the Music page - July 17, 2009

We uploaded some rough cuts of a few new songs onto our Music page. Rick is always in our thoughts as he continues to recover from his 7/9 surgery. Keep Cool, Rick! Hello to all our friends and fans. Hope you are having a summer filled with adventure. Cheers!

News about Rick - July 13, 2009

We've added a new link to our 'link' page. This new Caring Bridge link will give our friends and fans all the details of Rick's latest adventures in Washington D.C. His surgery was 13.5 hours on his birthday, July 9th. We are all so hopeful that he will recover and be cancer-free in the coming years. We look forward to playing a lot of good music with Rick in the near-future. Keep sending your postive thoughts his way and check out the new link for updates. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rickhulett

New photos, new links - May 12, 2009

Soon we will try to post some live photos taken by Steven Datnoff from our show on April 18th, 2009. Keep checking our photo page in the coming days.
It was a gig we will never forget.
Also, keep checking out our link page to get the Bigfoot Updates. New live footage of Rick playing can be found at http://www.youtube.com/RickHulett

Send positive thoughts........ - April 29, 2009

April has been a very difficult month since we found out our lead guitarist & good friend, Rick, has been diagnosed with cancer. Our positive thoughts are always with Rick and his family. Go to http://www.bigfootupdates.com/updates for more information on this sad news. We'd like to keep making great music with Rick for as long as we possibly can.

The Bird's the Word..... - April 20, 2009

We had one of our best gigs ever at the Pheasant Valley Winery last Saturday, April 18th. We gave the performance of our lives in front of fans, family, friends, & a lot of cameras! Nothing beats making great music with good friends while drinking organic wine. We'll never forget that concert. Cheers!

Spring Forward........ - March 9, 2009

We hitched up the trailor & traveled up toward Seattle for a concert at Lance & Laurie's house. We made some great music, new friends and even met the Mayor of Burien! It was a fun trip all around. How often do you get to drive through the snow while the sun shines? It must be a sure sign of spring. Thanks to our friends for including us in this concert series. We'll hit the road again very soon. Happy St. Patrick's Day and Spring Break to all our fans and friends.

Happy New Year! - January 7, 2009

Welcome to 2009, friends & fans. We hope you all had as much fun as we did ringing in the New Year. We will continue to hope the economy gets better so that venues can continue hiring live entertainment and we can see you all soon! Until then, enjoy the snow & rain mother nature has given to us and we'll look forward to some sunshine in the spring.

Artist Spotlight - December 4, 2008

Check out the 5 year Anniversary winter edition of the Columbia Gorge Magazine. They were nice enough to feature us in their Artist Spotlight pages 40-43. Our friend and photographer, Henry Schifter supplied most of the photos for the article. Thanks, Henry! Cheers & Happy Holidays!

What's new with the band? - November 7, 2008

Kat: Finished the Portland Marathon in under 5 hours with her Honey. She will be singing at Tony Starlight's Supperclub & Lounge to a sold out crowd on 11/12 with her new side-project "Signatures." (Check out the link page.)

Rick: Is working on creating an amazing new recording studio in Bingen, WA and will hopefully find time to mix our new cd this winter.

Tim: Just landed a job working for the Portland Jazz Festival. How much cooler can you get? He's also been moonlighting playing drums for several different artists around town.

Dennis: Went back to India since he had such a good time there the first time. We hope he comes back soon, but suspect he may move there! Hope he didn't take his horns with him.

Larry: His baby girl just had her first birthday and he is enjoying the continued success of his popular "Ukestra" which consists of about 100 kids playing their ukes.

Dustin: Has decided to jump into the Cadillac with us and take a musical ride. His amazing keyboard skills really round out our sound. You may even be able to hear him on our next cd. We hope to release it sometime in 2009.

Tony Starlight's - March 11, 2008

Had a great gig at Tony's. Great place with a fine old vintage vibe. We're looking forward to going back in the future. We got hooked up with the folks from Rose Drop Media at this gig.

PDX Jazz Festival - February 25, 2008

Django's Cadillac sure had fun playing the Rogue Brew Pub on Friday as part of the Portland Jazz Festival. The Jazz Festival hosted several prominent names in Jazz today, including Joshua Redman, Ornette Coleman, The Bad Plus, and the San Francisco Jazz Collective. We were thrilled to participate and enjoyed the capacity crowds reaction.

We've come to the end of another year and are ready to kick off a new
one in style. As the clock strikes midnight tonight we'll be in the
Grand Ballroom at the Columbia Gorge Hotel swinging our little hearts
out. All the rooms are sold out, but there are still a few tickets
left for the dinner/dance. Details here:

This will be our first time there and we're looking forward to it. The
show starts at 9:00 PM. Check it out at:

On Friday, January 4, we'll move down the highway to Olympia to see
our friends at Plenty. We had a great time the last time we were there

Crystal Ballroom, PDX Jazz - October 15, 2007

Check the pictures section for pictures from our gig at
the Crystal Ballroom. Mike, the monitor sound engineer, took them for
us.They're a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Then, last week we got a call inviting us to play for the Portland
Jazz Festival in February. Read all about the Festival at their web
page. http://www.pdxjazz.com/
This coming weekend will be a busy one. Saturday morning at 11:00
we'll be in Odell, OR playing for the Mt.Hood Railroad. Rumor has it
we'll be right in town on Main Street across from the Grocery Store.
Then, that evening we'll back at our old stomping ground the Trillium
Cafe. It's been awhile since we've played there and we're looking
forward to raising the roof.

Sunday morning, 10:00 AM finds us back at our regular Sunday morning
gig at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. This has really turned into a great
gig. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere and you really should come by and
have the morning libation of your choice. As soon as we're finished
there (2:00 PM), we hustle back up to Odell and play for the Railroad
again. Join us at one or all these gigs.

Also, we're in the process of mixing the live CD we recorded at the
Arts center in Hood River in August. Look for a December release just
in time for Christmas. See? Your shopping lists will be much easier
this year.

Live Recording! - August 7, 2007

Our West Washington tour is over and we had a great time. It was really cool seeing all our old friends and making some new ones. As soon as we catch our breath we'll be loading some pictures, sound samples and videos on the web page, so keep checking.

Right now we're busy gearing up for our live CD/DVD concert/recording tomorrow night. In case you missed it, it's at the Columbia Arts Center in Hood River. The doors open at 7:00 and we expect to start playing at 7:30 or so. We'll do two sets. There's no cover charge and no advertising. It's open to anyone on our e-mail list and anyone who happens to hear about it and is interested. This should be an interesting experiment. All we ask is that you avoid coming in in the middle of a song (the door is really noisy) and have a good time. Hope to see you there.

Django's Cadillac

Cadillac in West Richland, WA - June 10, 2007

This Friday, June 10, we'll be loading up and heading out to West Richland to play for their "Concerts at the Pavillion" series. In case you're flying in from Katmandu or somewhere else for this one, the concerts are held at Flat Iron Park which is at 4705 W. Van Giesen Rd. in West Richland, WA. We've got some new material we'll be debuting at this show. That always introduces the chance of something going way wrong and having the Cadillac spin out of control in front of the thronging masses. Heck, that's worth the price of admission right there. Did I mention that it's free? So, it seems like you really can't go wrong here. We'll see you there.

Greetings - March 1, 2007

Weather got your fung shui out of whack? Us too. As a matter of fact,
Kerry just wrote a song called "Funk Shue" that was designed as a
medicinal remedy that will bring your fung shui back into alignment.
As a side benefit it will also restore bad bio-rhythms to their
original pristine condition. If you need to get your systems back into
alignment come on out to the Trillium Cafe this Friday, that would
this Friday as in tomorrow, and get your self realigned.
On an unrelated note, stay tuned for details about our newly weekly
gig at the Columbia Gorge Hotel.

Greetings - January 2, 2007

Well it's a new year and the trash from the presents has been thrown
out, the turkey's about gone and it's time to get serious about
breaking those New Year's resolutions. And where better to do that
than this Friday, January 5 at the Trillium Café. Come on out and eat,
dance, drink and be merry. 7:30ish.

See you soon!
