Django's Cadillac: News

Tony Starlight's - March 11, 2008

Had a great gig at Tony's. Great place with a fine old vintage vibe. We're looking forward to going back in the future. We got hooked up with the folks from Rose Drop Media at this gig.

PDX Jazz Festival - February 25, 2008

Django's Cadillac sure had fun playing the Rogue Brew Pub on Friday as part of the Portland Jazz Festival. The Jazz Festival hosted several prominent names in Jazz today, including Joshua Redman, Ornette Coleman, The Bad Plus, and the San Francisco Jazz Collective. We were thrilled to participate and enjoyed the capacity crowds reaction.

Happy New Year 2008!!! - January 6, 2008

We've come to the end of another year and are ready to kick off a new
one in style. As the clock strikes midnight tonight we'll be in the
Grand Ballroom at the Columbia Gorge Hotel swinging our little hearts
out. All the rooms are sold out, but there are still a few tickets
left for the dinner/dance. Details here:

http://columbiagorgehotel.com/newyears.cfm

Once the New Year kicks in we're hitting the road. Thursday, January
3 will find us in Seattle at the Triple Door Musiquarium in Seattle.
This will be our first time there and we're looking forward to it. The
show starts at 9:00 PM. Check it out at:

http://www.thetripledoor.net/

On Friday, January 4, we'll move down the highway to Olympia to see
our friends at Plenty. We had a great time the last time we were there
and can't wait to get back. Show starts t 8:00.

The live CD will be out very shortly and we're planning a CD release
party, so stay tuned.

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New
Year.

Crystal Ballroom, PDX Jazz - October 15, 2007

Check the pictures section for pictures from our gig at
the Crystal Ballroom. Mike, the monitor sound engineer, took them for
us.They're a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea.

Then, last week we got a call inviting us to play for the Portland
Jazz Festival in February. Read all about the Festival at their web
page. http://www.pdxjazz.com/

This coming weekend will be a busy one. Saturday morning at 11:00
we'll be in Odell, OR playing for the Mt.Hood Railroad. Rumor has it
we'll be right in town on Main Street across from the Grocery Store.
Then, that evening we'll back at our old stomping ground the Trillium
Cafe. It's been awhile since we've played there and we're looking
forward to raising the roof.

Sunday morning, 10:00 AM finds us back at our regular Sunday morning
gig at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. This has really turned into a great
gig. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere and you really should come by and
have the morning libation of your choice. As soon as we're finished
there (2:00 PM), we hustle back up to Odell and play for the Railroad
again. Join us at one or all these gigs.

Also, we're in the process of mixing the live CD we recorded at the
Arts center in Hood River in August. Look for a December release just
in time for Christmas. See? Your shopping lists will be much easier
this year.

Live Recording! - August 7, 2007

Our West Washington tour is over and we had a great time. It was really cool seeing all our old friends and making some new ones. As soon as we catch our breath we'll be loading some pictures, sound samples and videos on the web page, so keep checking.

Right now we're busy gearing up for our live CD/DVD concert/recording tomorrow night. In case you missed it, it's at the Columbia Arts Center in Hood River. The doors open at 7:00 and we expect to start playing at 7:30 or so. We'll do two sets. There's no cover charge and no advertising. It's open to anyone on our e-mail list and anyone who happens to hear about it and is interested. This should be an interesting experiment. All we ask is that you avoid coming in in the middle of a song (the door is really noisy) and have a good time. Hope to see you there.

Cadillac in West Richland, WA - June 10, 2007

This Friday, June 10, we'll be loading up and heading out to West Richland to play for their "Concerts at the Pavillion" series. In case you're flying in from Katmandu or somewhere else for this one, the concerts are held at Flat Iron Park which is at 4705 W. Van Giesen Rd. in West Richland, WA. We've got some new material we'll be debuting at this show. That always introduces the chance of something going way wrong and having the Cadillac spin out of control in front of the thronging masses. Heck, that's worth the price of admission right there. Did I mention that it's free? So, it seems like you really can't go wrong here. We'll see you there.

Greetings - March 1, 2007

Weather got your fung shui out of whack? Us too. As a matter of fact,
Kerry just wrote a song called "Funk Shue" that was designed as a
medicinal remedy that will bring your fung shui back into alignment.
As a side benefit it will also restore bad bio-rhythms to their
original pristine condition. If you need to get your systems back into
alignment come on out to the Trillium Cafe this Friday, that would
this Friday as in tomorrow, and get your self realigned.
On an unrelated note, stay tuned for details about our newly weekly
gig at the Columbia Gorge Hotel.

Greetings - January 2, 2007

Well it's a new year and the trash from the presents has been thrown
out, the turkey's about gone and it's time to get serious about
breaking those New Year's resolutions. And where better to do that
than this Friday, January 5 at the Trillium Café. Come on out and eat,
dance, drink and be merry. 7:30ish.

See you soon!

Greetings! - November 14, 2006

Howdy and we hope all is well with you as we barrel towards the Holidaze. In preparation, we’ll be at the Trillium Cafe this Friday, Nov. 14. We start around 7:30ish and go until we get tired. We’ve been learning a bunch of new tunes and we’ll be airing them out for the first time this Friday. Our guess is that some of them will go as planned and some, well, maybe not quite as planned. You should probably be there to see what happens “WHEN BACKBEATS COLLIDE”. Just kidding. It’ll probably be fine and we’re pretty sure no one will get hurt. Much.

Then on Thursday, November 30, that’s after Thanksgiving in case you’re wondering, we’ll be at the River City Saloon for what will hopefully be the start of a regular night of music and dancing. Things start at 8:00 so throw your dancing shoes in the Subaru and come on out. We’re all just gonna get older so we might as well have some fun while we can.

Well, that’s all for now, thanks for listening and hope to see you soon.

Greetings - August 12, 2006

This Friday, August 11, at noon 0’clock, we’re going to be playing for the Bite of Oregon. If you don’t know about it, this is a great event held over three days at the waterfront in Portland. It’s a benefit for the Special Olympics, so not only do you get to enjoy a great event with great music and food, it’s also all goes to a good cause. If you’re in the vicinity on Friday, come on by the Fountain Stage around noon and we’ll be wailing away. Later that evening, Dave Alvin and the Guilty Men open for headliner Los Lobos. All in all, a great day of music and food.

If you haven’t done it yet, we’d be tickled pink if you’d check out our new CD at

http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/djangoscadillac2

Also, check out the Tumbleweed Music Festival in the Tri-cities on Sept 2. We’ll be headlining this event. Check it out at:

If you’re not busy this Labor Day, join us there. Hope to see you soon.

We worked hard on it and think it sounds pretty good. It doesn’t hurt at all that Joe Craven added tasty percussion to it.

If you’d like to hear it live or if you just want to shake that thang, this is a pretty good week for that. Thursday, August 3, we’ll be at the Trillium Café. Things start around 7:30. Then on Friday, August 4, we’ll be back with the good folks on the Sternwheeler. The boat starts loading at 5:30 and leaves the dock at 6:00 so don’t be late. We’ll be playing outside on the top deck, which is always special. Then on Saturday, August 5, we’ll be back for another round at the Trillium. 7:30 again.

Great news! We’ve been selected as the headliners for the Tumbleweed Music Festival in the Tri-cities on Sept 2. This is a great festival with a wide variety of styles and we’re thrilled to be playing there. Check it out at:

If you’re not busy this Labor Day, join us there. Hope to see you soon.

Greetings! - May 18, 2006

This Friday, May 19, we’ll be at the Trillium Café around 7:30 ish. Our buddy Tim Ortlieb will be on drums and Larry Wyatt will be on rhythm guitar. This will be our first chance to try out the new Trillium PA.

Then, mark your calendars for Thursday, June 22. This will be our official CD release party and we’re going to celebrate by doing a gig at the River City Saloon in Hood River. To make things even better, our good friend Joe Craven will be playing with us, wowing everyone with his amazing talent on percussion, violin, and who knows what else. And if that’s not enough, the next night, June 23, will find us in Portland at Mississippi Studios. Joe will be with us again for this show and it should be a complete blast.

So, get your dancing shoes on and come on out to the Trillium this Friday to get tuned up.

Greetings! - March 8, 2006

For those of you that were at the Gorgedance (www.gorgedance.net) swing dance on Feb 28th, check the pictures section of our web page. You might see yourself. If you weren't there, check anyway, you might see your friends.

We spent March 1 in the studio with Joe Craven putting down percussion tracks for our new CD. This week we started the mixing process. It won't be long.

This Friday, March 10, we'll be at the Trillium Cafe in Hood River. Come on by. We start around 7:30ish.

That's all for now and thanks for listening.

Greetings - February 22, 2006

Springtime’s just around the corner here at the Cadillac Ranch and we’ve got lots of stuff brewing. First of all, for those of you in the Gorge and anyone else that wants to come, this Friday, February 24th, we’ll be playing a swing dance at the Hood River Elks Lodge. It’s open to the public. This is a semi-monthly event organized by the folks at www.gorgedance.net who are doing a great job organizing the swing dance community in the Gorge. Dance lessons start at 8:00 and we start playing at 9:00.

Then, we’d like to announce our new web page. It’s been totally redesigned with all new stuff, including a couple of videos for you to check out. We’ll be adding new stuff all the time, such as a tune off our new CD. Yep, that’s right the new CD is right around the corner. We’ll be doing the final mixdown and mastering the week of March 6. The artwork and final package design will be the following week. It takes a couple of weeks to manufacture the CDs, so they should be here, well, before you know it. In the meantime, keep checking the new web page and we’ll put a song up as soon as the first one is complete. Oh, and be sure to sign our guestbook while you’re there; a free CD goes to the first person to sign it.

Last summer we had the opportunity to play a gig with Joe Craven www.joecraven.com Joe will be coming back to town next week and doing a rhythm workshop and concert in Mosier at the Mosier Grange on Wednesday, March 1. Joe’s one of the best entertainers I’ve ever seen and I really don’t think you should miss this. You can get details from Sue Bloomster at susanbloomster@earthlink.net or via her web site at http://www.dovetailevents.com
Rumor has it that Joe might also be around to put some percussion tracks on a certain soon to be released CD.

Well, that’s all for now and thanks for listening.
